  • The gas station manager lost his job after setting the gas price too high.

  • The station owners were indebted to John Szczecina's sister for setting up a Go Fund Me.

  • It cost me my job, but I'm fine with that. Szczecina said that it was his fault.

John Szczecina, a former Shell gas station manager, is trying to pay back his former employer after he mistakenly priced premium gas at 69 cents a gallon.

Szczecina's Shell station in Rancho Cordova, California, was flooded with customers when he misstated the price of gas.

Customers rushed to the station to take advantage of the deal before it was fixed. According to Fortune, the gas station lost $20,000 in sales due to the mistake.

Szczecina told the Washington Post that he was scared that the cashiers had been robbed. It cost me my job, but I'm fine with that. The truth is my fault.

Friends and family are helping the former manager pay back the Shell gas station. A person who claimed to be Szczecina's sister, Paula Jackson, set up a Go Fund Me account to raise money for the damage. The money is going to be returned to Shell.

Jackson told the Washington Post that he doesn't have to repay it. It shows a lot of character and honesty and responsibility for him to want to do it.

The money was raised easily by the GoFundMe.

We would like to thank you all for your support and encouragement. The page said that they were in the process of arranging the return of the money. All of you are kind and generous.
