Steve Kerr was a big fan of Stephen Curry.

The Golden State Warriors won their fourth title in eight years on Thursday. The Warriors missed the playoffs the last two years due to injuries and roster turnover.

Kerr was asked if Curry broke down in tears as the Warriors won the title. Kerr wanted to win for Curry.

All we could do was say to each other, "We gotta do this for Steph." This is for her. He is the one doing it for us.

As great as the organization has been, we wanted it so bad for Steph because he's the reason for this decade. He's definitely is.

Kerr compared Curry to Tim Duncan and said he was a "transcendent athlete and human being". Everyone in the locker room wants to fight for him because of his humility and confidence. I can't be happier for him.

The defining achievement of Curry's career was described by Kerr earlier in the night. Curry was the first person to win Finals Most Valuable Player.

Curry averaged 31 points per game on 45% shooting and 43% from three-point range in the NBA finals. Curry carried the Warriors at times, like in the crucial Game 4 in Boston when he scored 43 points while making seven three-pointers, as the Warriors evened the series at 2-2.

Curry scored 34 points on 12-of-21 shooting, 6-of-11 for three, in the sixth game of the series. He had seven assist, seven assist, and two steal.

Curry was emotional after the game as he celebrated with his teammates, coaches and family. Curry said no one expected the Warriors to win the title.

Kerr agreed with Van Pelt.

We have been through a lot in the last few years. Two years ago, we had the worst record in the league. I don't know if we ever knew we could do this. We didn't know it. It's pretty great.

Curry has been praised for his leadership and humility.

Curry feels the same way about his head coach. Curry said that Kerr won him over when he became head coach by being humble and stressing that he wanted to help the team.

The result has been a great partnership between the coach and player.
