Osaka withdrew from Wimbledon.

A leg injury was cited as the reason for Osaka dropping out of the tournament. During a first-round loss at the French Open last month, Osaka had tape on her foot due to an injured left ankle.

On Saturday, she confirmed her withdrawal on social media and wrote "there goes my grass dreams."

Osaka missed the Rome event due to the injury she sustained in Madrid.

She had doubts about playing at the All England Club after her loss at the French Open. The former world No. 1 said that the removal of ranking points at Wimbledon this year would be a factor in her decision.

I would love to go just to get some experience on the grass court, but at the same time, I'm the type of player that gets motivated by, The intent was good, but the execution was not.

Osaka has never made it past the third round at Wimbledon.

Eugenie Bouchard withdrew with a shoulder injury. They have been added to the field.
