Stephen Curry will have his number retired by Davidson in August, one day after he won his fourth NBA title and first Finals Most Valuable Player Award.
Curry's number will be the first to be retired by the school.
Curry will receive his bachelor's degree while he is in the Davidson athletics hall of fame. Curry did not attend the graduation ceremony for his bachelor's degree in sociology because he was playing in the NBA playoffs.
Curry had to finish his degree in order for Davidson to retire his numbers and jerseys. Davidson has retired the jerseys of six men's basketball players, but Curry's 30 will be the first to never be worn again.
Curry was the best player in Davidson history when he was at the school. He is the school's all-time leader in points, 3-pointers, free throws, field goals and steals, as well as the school's all-time leader in field goals and assists.
Curry was named the Bill Russell NBA Finals Most Valuable Player after his Warriors defeated the Boston Celtics 103-90.
