According to multiple news reports, Musk has fired employees who wrote and shared an open letter that criticized the billionaire chief executive of the rocket company.

According to two people familiar with the matter, at least five employees were fired for their roles in drafting and circulating the open letter.

The letter called Musk a frequent source of distraction and embarrassment and urged the company to condemn his actions.

The New York Times reported on Thursday that people had been fired over the letter.

Shotwell said in the email that the firm had investigated and fired a number of employees.

Shotwell wrote that the letter made employees feel uncomfortable, intimidated and bullied.

Forbes asked the company for comment, but they didn't immediately reply.
