England set a new record for the highest score in a one-day international when they defeated the Netherlands by a huge margin.
Buttler hit 14 sixes and seven fours on his way to a perfect 162 from 70 balls.
The Netherlands bowlers were smashed to all parts of the ground by the two centuries made by Phil Salt and Dawid Malan.
They made 481-6 against Australia at Trent Bridge.
Fans assisted the Dutch players in searching for the ball every time it disappeared into the forest, as 36 sixes rained down on the uncovered stands at the VRA Cricket Ground in Amstelveen.
Liam Livingstone's fifty off 17 balls was just two balls short of the fastest half-century in one-day internationals.
It was fitting that Buttler was the batter who reached the record total with a six launched over deep mid-century off the Dutch leg-spinner.
"Boring boring England" was sung by the England fans as Livingstone managed only a four off the last ball of the game to ensure England missed out on 500, but they were soon cheering when he hit the final ball of the game for six over cow corner.
There's more to come.
