The United Kingdom has agreed to extradite the founder of the website to the U.S., where he is wanted over the publication of hundreds of thousands of classified military documents.
The deportation was approved by the U.K. home secretary. There are still a number of appeal routes open to the man.
They claim that the release of the military records and diplomatic cables put lives at risk.
On 17 June, the decision was made to extradite Mr. Assange to the US. The U.K. Home Office has the right to appeal for 14 days.
The courts in the UK have not found that extraditeting Mr. Assange would be oppressive, unjust or an abuse of process. They have not found that he would be treated differently in the US than he would be in the UK.
The story will be updated soon.
