According to Kevin Weekes, the Philadelphia Flyers have agreed to a 4-year deal with John Tortorella.
After the 2020-21 season, the Columbus Blue Jackets announced that they wouldn't be renewing the coach's contract.
The Blue Jackets qualified for the playoffs in four of their six seasons under John Tortorella, making him the winningest coach in team history. The only time they advanced past the first round was in 2019.
He won a Stanley Cup with the New York Rangers in 2004, as well as another with the Bolts. The Jack Adams Award is given to the NHL's best coach.
The start to the season that included an eight-game losing streak led to the firing of the coach. As Philadelphia failed to make the playoffs for a second year in a row, Mike Yeo became the interim coach.
The team's head coach will not be returning in 2022-23.
TheFlyers were one of the worst teams in the NHL this year. Defenseman Ryan Ellis was limited to just four games due to injury last year. The aggressive retool includes a new coach in the form of John Tortorella.
