Patrick Mahomes was surprised by the comments made by Tyreek Hill on a recent podcasts that were critical of him and the Chiefs.

"I'm a little surprised because I feel like we love Tyreek here," he said. He has always been loved by us. We adore him. I saw him at a race. I'm pretty sure it had something to do with trying to get his show up and running.

I still enjoy watching him. He is one of a kind. It takes the whole team. Before I arrived, this offense was in full swing. When I was a Cowboys fan, the Eagles beat up on the Cowboys and this offense was on fire. The offense is more than one player and that includes myself.

Hill was traded to the Miami Dolphins in March after four seasons as the starting quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Hill said on his "It Needed To Be Said" show that the Chiefs and Mahomes might struggle without him and that he was underused in Kansas City. Hill had a career high in catches.

He said Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is a better passer.

He hasn't talked to Hill since the show.

In May, I talked to him at Formula One in Miami. He's trying to show he loves where he's at in Miami and he loves his teammates. I loved that he wanted to win.

"I feel like the coverages we were getting were really accounting for him, so we had to go somewhere else." You want to have a chance to affect the games when he is a competitor. He wanted to help us win. It wasn't selfishness. He didn't bring that to our attention because we were winning football games at the end of the season.

I don't think it gets to me. I think I'm doing my job correctly if we win football games and put up points. It doesn't have to be the best in the world. I'll take it if we win the Super Bowl and score a lot of points.

"I love Tyreek, I wouldn't discuss Hill's comments other than that," he said. He is a good person. The world of him is what we think.
