There is an open letter on the internal chat system of the company that condemns the behavior of the CEO. Musk is accused of failing to fulfill the team's "No Asshole" and zero tolerance sexual harassment policies.
It's not clear how many employees signed the letter, but it seems to have struck a nerve, with employees leaving over 100 comments and plenty of employees agreeing with the sentiment.
"Elon's behavior in the public sphere is a frequent source of distraction and embarrassment for us."
They say that is a problem.
"It is critical to make clear to our teams and to our potential talent pool that his messaging does not reflect our work, our mission, or our values."
The demands of the employees are easy to understand. They want to make sure that all leadership is held accountable for questionable behavior and that the policies are clearly defined.
Last month, Musk was accused of paying a flight attendant $250,000 after she refused to have sex with him.
In an email, Shotwell argued that the allegations to be false.
In December, a letter was written by a former engineer at the company, in which she claimed she couldn't stop being sexually harassed.
Musk identifies himself as a Republican on his account, a political alignment that is unlikely to be supported by the majority of employees at the company.
The CEO drew the ire of many of the employees. They're just trying to do their jobs without having a media circus erupt every time their boss goes on the internet to defend himself after being accused of sexual harassment.
