Quick fixes: grouping Sonos speakers without the app

One of the best things about owning a Sonos system is being able to listen to music in your home. Whether you have speakers in every room or just a few strategically placed where they are most important, having the flexibility to get your system playing in harmony is a huge convenience.

Some people think that the only way to get different speakers to play the same song is through the Sonos app. The software is available for every major platform. If you have a smart speaker from the company, you can use the voice control to do it.

Even when your phone isn't close to hand, you can group the products together. The onboard touch controls on every speaker can be used to do it all.

HOW TO FIX IT

• Locate the Sonos speaker you want to group with others that are already playing audio
• Press and hold the play / pause button. The Sonos device will automatically be grouped with the active speaker and start playing the same audio.

If you have different audio playing on your speakers in different rooms, keep hold of play and the speaker will cycle through the audio from each room. Release the button if you want your speaker to group with the device you want.

Music can be moved from one room to another. Simply pause one speaker, go to a different product, and then tap and hold play/ pause to resume whatever you were listening to.
