  • US military veterans are teaching Ukrainian soldiers how to fight.

  • Without more modern, long-range weaponry, Ukrainian forces could be overwhelmed.

  • Martin Wetterauer, a Marine veteran, said that the war was a lot of fun.

A group of US military veterans are teaching Ukrainian soldiers how to fight.

The officers in the Mozart Group told Newsweek that modern, long-range weaponry would help the Ukrainians.

The Mozart Group is made up of US military veterans who help train Ukrainian soldiers.

Martin Wetterauer, the Mozart Group's chief operations officer, told Newsweek that it was a bit of a fight.

Wetterauer told the outlet that NATO's equipment would be needed to help eliminate Russian defense lines in the Donbas region.

Steve K., an operations manager in the group who declined to give his full name, agreed with Wetterauer and highlighted the US made Multiple Launch Rocket System and the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System as being vital tools for the Ukrainian war effort.

Steve K told the outlet that they needed the rounds. They can't hold them back if we don't continue with that supply.

According to Newsweek, Wetterauer said that the Ukrainians don't underestimate the Russians' capabilities and are confident in their chances of winning if they receive the right equipment.

Wetterauer said that if they can increase their skill set, they will eventually get better and more advanced weapon systems. There is no doubt that they will turn the war around. It will take a while.

Ukrainian forces are currently engaged in a battle with Russian troops in the Donbas region. In June, the Ukrainian government appealed to the West to send more weapons to the country.

There are reports that cases of desertion are increasing among Ukrainian forces. The Washington Post reported this week that a senior US official said that Russia will likely take control of eastern Ukraine within weeks.

Intelligence from the UK suggests that Russia may not be able to produce enough military equipment for a long conflict.
