The Yankees are close to 50 wins and other teams have seen a change in their fortunes.

Coming off a tough series sweep this past weekend, the Dodgers are now faced with playing the rest of the season without a crucial member of their rotation. The Brewers are no longer the top team in their division. Atlanta has gotten going after a slow start, and Boston is building on its success.

All of that leaves us 10 weeks into the season.

A combination of what we've seen so far and what we already knew going into the 162-game marathon that is a full baseball season has resulted in our expert panel ranking every team in baseball. The experts were asked to observe all 30 teams.

Week 9 of the season.

1. New York Yankees

The record was 46-16.

The previous ranking was one.

The Yankees are the top team in baseball. The New York Yankees are one of the top teams in the majors in a number of categories. Jose Trevino, who is fourth on the team in WAR, is one of the surprises of the season. Since he joined the Yankees lineup, free-agent pickup Matt Carpenter has been outstanding.

2. New York Mets

The record was 41-23.

The previous ranking was three.

Through the first 63 games of the Mets' season, Pete Alonso has 59 runs scored and a pace of 150. Mike Piazza and David Wright had a team record of 123. Alonso and Robin Ventura drove in 120. The last player to drive in 150 runs in a season was Alex Rodriguez for the Yankees in 2007. Alonso has been at his best with runners in scoring position, with a.368/.481/.877 line.

3. Los Angeles Dodgers

The record was 39-23.

The previous rank was 2.

The weekend in San Francisco was terrible for the Dodgers. They lost sole possession of first place in their division and Walker Buehler to a flexor strain as a result of being swept by their bitter division rivals. The Dodgers will be without both their most important starter and their most important relief pitcher for most of the season due to Buehler's absence. Tony and Tyler have stepped up.

4. San Diego Padres

40 24 is the record.

The previous ranking was six.

The Padres received some bad news recently on Fernando Tatis Jr., who still hasn't been cleared to pick up a bat and begin the process of working his way back to the lineup. The Padres are still rolling regardless. Their starting rotation is third-best in the majors, their defense leads the sport in outs above average, and they have a player who is playing at an elite level. The Padres have been able to win 10 of their last 13 games.

5. Toronto Blue Jays

The record was 37 25.

The previous ranking was five.

Kevin Gausman has established himself as an ace since he joined Toronto. The righty ranks among the top pitchers in all of baseball, leading all pitchers in WAR while posting a 2.67 earned run average in 12 starts. He has a 1.75 FIP, which suggests that he has been better than his statistics show. The top of a rotation has been led by him and Manoah.

6. Houston Astros

The record was 39 24.

The previous ranking was four.

It wasn't the best week for the Astros, who lost a home series against Miami and Seattle and then started a road trip with a loss. Houston has built a huge buffer over the west. The injury to Jeremy Pena's thumb doesn't appear to be too serious, but it's concerning. Mauricio Dubon should get more time in a utility role, as the Astros will deploy veteran AledmysDiaz at the position. Houston is facing a difficult part of its schedule at the moment. Over an 11-game span, the Yankees, Mets, and White Bears will play each other.

7. Atlanta Braves

The record was 37 27.

The previous ranking was 13.

The Braves' win on Wednesday, powered by two Austin Riley home runs, was their 14th in a row, matching the second longest in franchise history. They are beating up on teams that aren't as impressive. Give credit to the Braves' player development system, as Michael Harris has raked since coming up to play center field and Spencer Strider has a 2.75 earned run average since moving to the rotation.

8. St. Louis Cardinals

The record was 37-28.

The previous ranking was seven.

It was only a matter of time before the Brewers were overtaken by the Cards. The scariest part is that St. Louis isn't at its peak yet. The team won 5 of its last 7 games after being swept in a series by theRays. Next month is when the Cards will be in the market for a pitcher, and they are likely to go bigger than the additions of Jon Lester and J.A. Happ. Thanks to Paul Goldschmidt and Nolan Arenado, they are dangerous.

9. Tampa Bay Rays

The record was 35 27.

The previous rank was 9.

The absence of several players on the injured list hasn't stopped the team from continuing to play. After playing for five different organizations over the last 10 years, Jason Adam joined the team and is now one of the team's top pitchers. He has put up a 0.72 and 0.64 in 25 appearances this season.

10. San Francisco Giants

The record was 35 27.

The previous ranking was ten.

The Giants swept the Dodgers over the weekend and went on to win five in a row thanks in large part to a pitching staff that has allowed only six earned runs in 45 appearances during that time. The Giants activated first baseman Brandon Belt and sent starting pitcher Anthony De Sclafani out on a rehabilitation assignment.

11. Minnesota Twins

The record was 37-28.

The previous rank was 11.

There are a lot of players on the trade market that are worth following and getting excited about.

There are a lot of names you need to know.

Cleveland is in front of Minnesota in the division race. The Twins' margin has fallen from 5 games at the beginning of the month to 2 1/2 games by the end of the day. The Twins andGuardians are going to play each other eight times in 10 days, so if you like good races, this is a good development. By the time that stretch arrives, Minnesota appears to be a little better off than it has been recently. It's too soon to say that the Twins' health crisis is over because second basemanJorge Polanco has been battling back trouble.

12. Boston Red Sox

The record was 34-31.

The previous ranking was twelve.

Don't be surprised if the Red Sox win the World Series. Boston continues to climb up the division table after a road series win over the Angels and a victory over the Seattle. Since the beginning of May, third baseman Rafael Devers is hitting.354/.408/.701 with 13 homers and 16 doubles, driving in much of that.

13. Milwaukee Brewers

The record was 35-31.

The previous ranking was eight.

The Brewers' eight-game losing streak came to an end on Sunday, but not before they dropped into second place in the NL Central thanks to an offense that ranked 25th in the country and a staff that ranked 29th in the country. Josh Hader gave up two home runs in a row to blow his first save of the season in the fourth loss of the streak, as the Philadelphia and Nationals clobbered them. The Brewers are fighting for a wild-card spot, but they can always turn it around in a weak NL central.

14. Philadelphia Phillies

The record was 32-31.

The previous ranking was fifteen.

The Phils won nine of their first 10 games under new manager Rob Thomson despite Tuesday's 11-9 loss to the Marlins. The team slugged 20 home runs during that stretch, with BryceHarper leading the way with five home runs. An OPS+ that has inched past his number is a testament to how wellHarper has taken to the full-time role.

15. Cleveland Guardians

The record was 31-26.

The previous ranking was fourteen.

Despite not having a winning streak longer than four games this season, the slow boil is heating up during a soft portion of Cleveland's schedule. It is about to change. The Dodgers are going to take on the Guardians after they finish their current series at Colorado. Cleveland begins an 11 game home stand against Boston, Minnesota, and the Yankees after a stop at division rival Minnesota. If Cleveland can transition its success against lesser lights into wins against MLB's elite, we will know.

16. Miami Marlins

The record was 28-33.

The previous ranking was twenty.

After making the All-Star team in his first season as a starter and posting a 2.64 earned run average,Trevor Rogers has struggled this season with a 5.87 earned run average Even though he's throwing a four-seamer with a high spin rate, it's getting hammered even though he's still effective. Batters are hitting.330 with eight homers off it compared to.222 with five homers in 2021.

17. Chicago White Sox

The record was 30-31.

The previous rank was 16.

The best teams and the biggest names in baseball can be seen on the sports network.

Sunday at 7 pm The WhiteSox-Astros game is on.

There is a lot of panic on the south side of Chicago where the White Sox are off to a poor start. Chants calling for Tony La Russa's dismissal began to be heard during Chicago's home games. It's easy to understand how frustrated the person is.

It's easy to point out that the White Socks have been treading water while trying to get to a healthier place, but the reality is that the injury treadmill keeps spinning with no signs of slowing down. Liam Hendriks was sent to theIL due to a forearm strain. The extent of the injury is not known at this point, but if it is a bad one, it will be a problem for the White Sox. A thin relief staff would be exposed more if Kendall Graveman stepped in to close.

18. Texas Rangers

The record was 23-33.

The previous ranking was 18.

"Are they back in the playoffs or not?" was a question Texas had. Yes, the answer is affirmative. The Angels have opened the door for them to take over and stay in second place in the NL West, even though they aren't above.500 yet. They should compete for a wild-card spot in the weak division. The Rangers are getting good production from second baseman Ezequiel Duran, who is hitting.500 with an OPS over.800.

19. Los Angeles Angels

The record was 29- 35.

The previous rank was 17

The Angels activated Taylor Ward off the injured list on Tuesday, making their lineup mostly whole, despite Anthony Rendon's wrist injury. Their starter have remained healthy, as have their keyRelievers, and they have already fired their manager. They aren't out of excuses. They need to play like it again if they really believe they are a contender.

20. Seattle Mariners

The record was 28- 35.

The previous rank was 19

Gilbert is trying to get on the All-Star team. He had a perfect six-inning performance against the Twins on Tuesday to raise his record to 7-2. He ranked in the middle of the pack in several categories after that outing. He's been hit harder than his actual results by his Statcast metrics.

21. Arizona Diamondbacks

Thirty-five is the record.

The previous rank was 21.

Varsho moved from behind the plate to a more regular role after Kelly came back from the injury list. There, he joined top prospect Alek Thomas to form a dynamic outfield mix that D-backs manager Torey Lovullo likened to his days with the RedSox. Both Varsho and Thomas have been hitting.

22. Colorado Rockies

The record was 27-34.

The previous rank was 24.

The Rockies haven't had many positives lately, but they got one on Sunday: German Marquez, the ace of their staff, held the Padres to only two runs in seven frames and didn't issue a walk. His rating dropped from 6.49 to 6.09. The Rockies are hoping it will get him on the right track.

23. Baltimore Orioles

The record was 27-38.

The previous rank was 25.

Some free agents are doing well in their new homes while others are not.

Players are ranked in new cities.

Is it real or not. Disappointments early on.

Louis Angelos sued his family for control of the team in the biggest story around the Orioles. Rumors have arisen that the Orioles could be moved. Georgia Angelos stated that their investment in Camden Yards meant they would stay in Baltimore. The family's fight over control of the team's future puts into perspective the importance of the current rebuild in bringing fans back to the park with a new generation of stars.

24. Chicago Cubs

The record was 23-40.

The previous rank was 22.

The Cubs do not have enough healthy arms to compete on a nightly basis. They have been useless since they joined the team. The bad news is Kyle took some extra days between starts, but he did well on Tuesday. Willson will give the Cubs some trade chips in July.

25. Pittsburgh Pirates

The record was 25-38.

The previous rank was 23.

Progress towards.500 was halted by the nine-game losing streak that ended with Wednesday's victory. The Pirates didn't fall in the table. Even if it's just a two-game series, things are not going well when you're swept by the tigers. The Pirates hit eight home runs, but their batting average was the worst in the league. They scored one run in four of the losses, including a 9-1 loss to the Cards on Tuesday.

26. Cincinnati Reds

The record was 24-40.

The previous rank was 27.

The Reds could be out of last place by next week. Does that tell us anything about the division they live in? Cincinnati is just 15-16 in its last 31 games, but that has been enough to close the gap with the Cubs and Pirates. Tyler gave up just one run between his first and second starts. They gave Cincinnati hope.

27. Detroit Tigers

The record was 24-38.

The previous rank was 26.

TheTigers began their current homestand hoping to leverage some home-cooking into enough wins that it would reestablish them as a longshot wild-card contender Detroit will play four games against Texas before hitting the road. June 20 is the start of a 29-game stretch that includes 22 road games. The good news is that Detroit will start the season with a 8-18 road record and an away-from- home run differential that makes them the worst road team in baseball. There is a chance that things will get ugly.

28. Washington Nationals

The record was 23-40.

The previous rank was 28.

The long season for the Nationals has gotten worse as Stephen Strasburg came off the IL, made one start and allowed seven runs, and then returned to theIL with a stress reaction in his ribs. Three years into his seven-year, $245 million contract, the Nationals have not given a timetable for his return. The Nationals' rotation has a chance to be one of the worst in baseball history, as they've allowed the most runs in the majors.

29. Kansas City Royals

The record was 21-40.

The previous rank was 30.

Are you a fan of your favorite MLB team?

Bradford Doolittle

The Royals matched their season high with a three-game winning streak and still dug a little deeper in their search for rock bottom. They have already lost six times this season, four or more times. Is there any positive news? It's definitely true. He is showing he belongs in the bigs Bobby Witt Jr.'s season continues to gather momentum at the plate and while his early defensive metrics have lag, there's every reason to believe he will remain the Royals' answer at that position for a very long time.

30. Oakland Athletics

The record was 21-40.

The previous rank was 29

The Oakland A's are likely to be among the worst teams in all of baseball for the remainder of the season, with Frankie Montas likely to spend now until the trade deadline auditioning for his next role. Christian Bethancourt has been one of the best comeback stories recently. Bethancourt was once a top prospect in baseball, appearing in the Futures Game, but he last appeared in the majors in 2017. Bethancourt is hitting.343 in June with four homers.
