Kylian Mbappe must have changed his dream after he turned down a move to Real Madrid, according to Florentino Perez.

Kylian Mbappe signed a new three-year contract with Paris St-Germain instead of moving to Spain.

Perez said that his dream was to play at Real Madrid.

He kept saying he wanted to play at Madrid and they wouldn't let him leave.

Guillem Balague, a Spanish football expert, said that Mbappe had agreed a financial package with Real months ago for a possible switch to Spain.

Spain's La Liga reacted angrily to the news, calling the deal scandalous and has since filed a complaint to Uefa about what it believes to be Financial Fair Play violations by Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain.

"This is not the Mbappe I wanted to bring, he is another one, who must have changed his dream," Perez was quoted as saying in Marca from the interview with El Chiringuito.

He changes, he is offered other things, and he is already a footballer.

There's no one above the club. He is a great player, he can win more than others, but it's a collective sport and we have values and principles that we can't change.

When asked if he would join Real Madrid in the future, he said it was not over.

Perez said that the person who was going to come here was not this person. I would prefer him to stay at Paris Saint-Germain. I would like the one with the dream.

France's Karim Benzema scored 44 goals in 46 games for Real Madrid last season, helping the team win the La Liga and the European title.

He is one of the favorites to win the Ballon d'Or and Perez suggested the 34 year old's exploits were behind them not signing Erling Haaland.

Perez said that they wouldn't bring in Haaland to have him on the bench.

We want to build a new team with the youngsters and some reinforcements.

The formation of a European Super League is still going on, according to Perez.

Plans for a European Super League were announced last year, and Real Madrid was one of 12 clubs.

The sides pulled out after protests from fans and politicians.
