The US has hired a new crew to sail a Russian billionaire's yacht from the Pacific to the Hawaiian islands.

The $325 million vessel, which US authorities said belonged to gold tycoon Suleiman Kerimov, left the port of Lautoka in Fiji early on Tuesday.

The yacht Amadea is heading to Hawaii.

The vessel carrying the American flag left from the island after it was ruled that Kerimov's yacht was in the hands of the US. The flag was previously flown by it.

According to Superyacht Fan, a different crew is in control of the Amadea, which features a Jacuzzi, a winter garden, and a helipad.

The Department of Justice told Insider on Tuesday that the judicial process to determine the disposition of the vessel will continue.

After sailing across the Pacific from Mexico, Amadea was banned from leaving after a restraining order was issued.

The yacht was ordered to sail out of the country's waters in June because its running costs were too high.

The UK and European Union imposed sanctions on Kerimov after he was accused of money-laundering by the US.

He is a member of the Russian Federation Council and his family owns a controlling stake in Polyus Gold.

Nafta Moscow is owned by Kerimov.
