Amazon Prime Day will begin at 3AM on Tuesday, July 12th and run through Wednesday, July 13th. Thanks to a previous earnings call, we knew it was going to be July, but now Amazon Prime subscribers know when to set their clocks for.
This year's Prime Day is a few weeks later than it was last year, but it's maintaining its summer timing, as opposed to when Amazon delayed the event until October due to the swine flu. If you are in the market for toys, tech, home goods, or anything else, it may be a good time to save money. It is almost certain that we will see some of the lowest prices to date on Amazon products. On June 21st, Amazon will offer up to 55 percent off a range of Amazon devices, including the latest Kindle Paperwhite, the fourth-gen echo dot, and a number of other Amazon devices.
The 48-hour sale will feature the lowest prices ever on select products from Bose, iRobot, and a number of other brands. Many of the deals will take the form of robot vacuums, noise canceling headphones, and 4K TVs, as well as other types of electronics. During Prime Day, Amazon will be giving away free games through Prime gaming, as well as discounts on services like Amazon Music and more.
Prime Day is arriving at a difficult time for the company. There have been many reports of terrible working conditions for Amazon workers since the massive influx of online shopping. As Amazon continues to face scrutiny from the New York state government over its treatment of workers, the ALU is trying to get more warehouses unionized.
While Prime Day will bring about a lot of deals and discounts, it also increases the workload on warehouse workers and delivery drivers, who have been known to skip breaks to meet quota We will have to wait and see if this year is any different with New York inching closer to cracking down on Amazon's production quota.
In the early hours of June 15th, Amazon added more information about the specific deals it will be offering, as well as the various promotions it will be running.
