According to The Washington Post, the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas was corresponding with a Trump lawyer who drafted a memo detailing a plan to overturn the 2020 election.

A right-wing activist sent an email to a lawyer. According to The Post, Thomas's attempts to overturn the election were more extensive than previously known. A spokesman for the co-chair of the committee did not reply to a request for comment.

According to a memo obtained by Insider, a senior fellow at the Claremont Institute laid out a plan for what one legal expert described as a "coup camouflaged in legal language." The 2020 presidential election and Biden's win were not certified by the vice president.

Thomas urged 29 Republican lawmakers in Arizona to ignore Biden's popular vote victory and choose their own slate of alternate electors who supported Trump.

She sent a text to the former chief of staff. She said to not concede. It takes time for the army to come together.

Democrats argue that Thomas's efforts to overturn the election should force her husband to step aside from cases related to January 6 and the 2020 vote. He was the only justice who voted against requiring the former president to give the records to the congressional committee.

A request for comment was not responded to by the couple.
