One of the perks of using iMessage to chat is that you can send audio messages as well as text and pictures.

The audio messages are permanently deleted after two minutes if you listen to them, with no option to get them back.

The clock starts to count from two minutes after you receive an audio iMessage. The audio clip is deleted when the timer runs out.

You can keep it after you listen to it. You will always be able to see it in Messages.

How to save audio messages to your Mac computer

Audio messages can be imported onto your computer if you don't trust your phone to keep them.

This is the first thing. Make sure your iMessages show up on both your Apple devices.
