The starting safety for the Indianapolis Colts decided to retire after three seasons in the National Football League to pursue a ministry.

"With much prayer and deliberation, I have decided to retire from the National Football League as I attempt to devote the remainder of my life to the advancement of Jesus Christ," he wrote. I would like to thank my family, friends and those who have supported me on this journey so far and I look forward to your continued support through the next phase of my life.

The holy call that God has for my life brings me a lot of joy and purpose. I would like to thank you all for your support over the years.

He became the team's starting strong safety halfway through his first season.

Frank Reich said they were thankful and appreciative of Khari's contributions to the Colts over the last three seasons. Khari's character, leadership, and professionalism will be missed in the locker room. My prayers are with him as he transitions into the next stage of his life and ministry.

In the off-season, the Colts addressed the safety position. The 96th overall pick in this year's draft was selected by Maryland's Nick Cross, who was signed as a free agent by them. Cross is projected to be the long-term starter at the spot that will be started by McLeod.
