A musical scene from Inu-Oh.

The trailer for Masaaki Yuasa's Inu-Oh has been released and will be shown at the Annecy International Film Festival. While still retaining the texture of Yuasa's previous work, the trailer has an exciting soundtrack and incredibly vibrant visuals.

The film follows the legendary 14th-century Noh performer Inu-oh as he travels from town to town because of an old curse. When he meets the blind biwa player, Tomona, who is haunted by his past, they rise from hardship to fame with their creative and revolutionary artistry. The musical is described as a "revisionist rock opera" by the press release.

Inu-Oh was released in Japan on May 28, but it wasn't available in the US.
