  • China's science ministry said it might have found signals from aliens.

  • The "Sky Eye" telescope was able to identify signals this year.

  • Scientists on the program said the new signals might be radio interference.

The "Sky Eye" telescope may have picked up signs of an alien civilization.

Several cases of possible technological traces and extraterrestrial civilizations from outside the earth were found by researchers with Beijing Normal University.

The signals were found by the only giant, single-dish, radio telescope in the world. The newspaper said it's informally known as Sky Eye.

According to the newspaper, FAST found several narrow-band signals different from the previous ones.

The new signals may be radio interference, according to the newspaper.

There is a very high chance that the signal is radio interference and needs to be ruled out. It might be a long process. "I said so."

The FAST telescope can detect faint radio-waves from pulsars and materials far away.

The observatory cost $171 million and was finished in 2016

The main function of the telescope was to search for extraterrestrial life. Scientists from the University of California, Berkeley are collaborating with Beijing Normal University.

The researchers have identified two sets of signals from the beginning of the year to the end of the year.
