Musk voted for Mayra Flores in the special election for Texas' 34th congressional district. The Democrat Daniel Sanchez was defeated by the Republican Flores in the congressional race.
He said "tbd" when asked if he would vote for a Republican in the election.
Musk said last month that he would vote Republican, even though he had previously voted for Democrats. His most explicit political statement to date was on Wednesday.
Donald Trump, who has been teasing another run for the presidency in 2024, is said to be concerned by the rising star in the Republican Party.
