The GOP congressman who voted to impeach Donald Trump was defeated in his primary race by a Trump supporter.
Rice was competing against Fry. The Associated Press called Fry's race at 11:01 pm. On Tuesday Fry had more votes than Rice at the time.
Trump praised Fry as a "leading fighter on Election Integrity" while calling Rice a "coward who abandoned his constituents by caving to Nancy Pelosi and the Radical Left." Fry was described as being pro-life, pro- God, pro-gun, and pro low taxes by Trump.
Rice was one of nine Republicans who voted to impeach Trump. Rice was the recipient of death threats during his campaign. Wrenzie Rice told the outlet that she no longer felt safe in South Carolina where her husband has served for five terms.
