The new jobs will be in South Yorkshire.

The company said on Wednesday that it had signed a deal to give 10 Airlander 10s to a Spanish airline.

The aircraft, which the company says will have under a tenth of the CO2 footprint per passenger of jet planes, will be built in South Yorkshire.

The UK is at the forefront of green aviation technology according to the business secretary.

He said that hybrid aircraft could play an important role as we transition to cleaner forms of aviation.

The Airlander 10 aircraft can fly across Spanish skies thanks to this agreement. It shows how the UK's businesses are embracing new technology to grow and support high skilled UK jobs.

The aircraft, which according to HAV will have a CO 2 footprint per passenger of about 4.5 grams compared with 53 grams on a jet plane, are expected to take to the skies with Air Nostrum.

The president of Air Nostrum said that the Airlander 10 would greatly reduce emissions. The daily operations of commercial aviation are already non-negotiable when it comes to sustainable practices.

The airline didn't say which routes it would operate the Airlander on. The flight from Barcelona to Palma de Mallorca is expected to take four and a half hours.

HAV, which has in the past attracted funding from Peter Hambro, a founder of Russian goldminer Petropavlovsk and Bruce Dickinson, has said its aircraft is ideal for inter-city mobility applications.

Airlander is designed to deliver a better future for sustainable aviation services, enable new transport networks and provide rapid growth options for our customers. The launch airline for Airlander 10 is led by our partnership with Air Nostrum Group.

The craft was used for intelligence missions in Afghanistan. According to HAV, the value of the market will be $50 billion over the next two decades. The Airlander craft will be sold over that time.

Some of the test flights ended badly. On its second test flight, it crashed. The aircraft sustained damage on landing. There was no damage caused by a telegraph pole or mid-air.
