According to testimony released by the January 6 committee, a former White House lawyer told John Eastman to get a criminal defense lawyer after the January 6 riot.

Herschmann demanded that he only talk about the orderly transition to the next administration and encouraged him to find a defense attorney.
The January 6 committee will scrutinize Trump's "relentless effort" to pressure Pence at its next hearing on Thursday at 1 p.m., according to Rep. Liz Cheney, the vice chairwoman of the January 6 committee.

The judge ordered Eastman to turn over more than 150 documents to the committee detailing the Trump legal team's plans to block the certification of the election. The memo that was forwarded to Trump was about January 6 being the "hard deadline" to prevent Biden from winning.
According to Cheney, Trump told White House staffers he had no problem with his supporters calling for the vice president to be lynched on January 6. The comment was denied by Trump.
