You would think that the suspended engineer who went public with his belief that advanced artificial intelligence is sentient would give interviews.

After receiving coverage from The Washington Post and The New York Times, Lemoine's story got a lot of attention. A lot of people have questions for the employee.

We won't have to wait. Lemoine took to social media to let people know that he was offline and away on his honeymoon, thanks a lot!

He wrote that he was on his honeymoon for all of the people who reached out to him. I will not have time for interviews until after the 21st.

Honeymooners

LaMDA is an artificial intelligence-powered chatbox designed to realistic "converse" with humans. According to WaPo, Lemoine signed up to help test if LaMDA could produce hate speech.

The engineer was amazed by LaMDA's ability to think for itself. The currently-sidelined code-constructor told his superiors that he thought the system was sentient after many conversations. Lemoine believes that his feelings are not based in a scientific framework, but are more symbolic.

According to the company's statements, LaMDA is very good at its job. Lemoine's testimony has caused serious questions about the ethics of artificial intelligence.

Lemoine risked his job and reputation to tell the world about LaMDA and now he is taking a vacation. Maybe that is the American Productivity Brain. He is using his paid leave to go offline and spend time with his wife, who he loves very much.

Lol, no. I married an old friend of mine from New Orleans. An amazing artist and healer who I've been working on various social welfare projects with for years.
