The military official in the Russian-backed rebel region of Donetsk warned the remaining Ukrainian fighters in the besieged city to surrender.

The last bridge to enter the city was destroyed, trapping the remaining soldiers, according to the deputy leader of the People's Militia.

The last bridge that connected it to the other side of the river was destroyed yesterday. The Ukrainian military units that are there are still there. They can either follow the example of their colleagues and give up or die. They have nothing else to do.

On Tuesday, the Ukrainian government said that its forces were still holding out in the city and that soldiers were trying to leave the area. More than 500 people are trapped inside Azot, according to officials.

Soldiers were given a chance to surrender until Wednesday morning by the head of the National Defense Management Center. Col.-Gen. is an independent media outlet in Russia. Ukrainian soldiers should stop resisting and lay down their arms, according to the man. He said that any civilians would be allowed to leave.

Even though bridges to the city have been destroyed, Oleksandr Stryuk, the mayor of the city, said that there is still contact with the city. The military is holding firm as Russian troops attempt to storm the city.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky asked Western countries to send more long-range weapons so the military could defend the city. Zelensky stated that they have enough weapons. The weapons that hit the range that we need to reduce the advantage of the Russian Federation's equipment are not enough. 1,000 drones, 500 tanks and 1,000 long-range howitzers have been requested by the Ukranian government.
