It was worth it for my family to stay at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge.
We went to the hotel to stay in a room with a view of the animals.
The only complaint we had was that the resort is a long way from other parks.
There are two themed buildings at Animal Kingdom Lodge.
The Jambo House and Kidani Village are part of the Animal Kingdom Lodge.
The main hotel building is called Jambo House and Kidani Village houses Disney Vacation Club villas.
You can walk between Jambo House and Kidani Village in about 20 minutes. Every 15 minutes there is a free shuttle.
Animals like giraffes, zebras, and deer can be found in the savannas at the resort.
The experience starts in the lobby and goes from there.
The lobby of Jambo House has a lot to offer.
Guests feel like they've been transported to another land with the floor-to-ceiling windows, suspension bridge, and museum-worthy art and artifacts.
The African-inspired theming is prevalent throughout the resort.
The location isn't a good place to go to a park.
The Animal Kingdom theme park is close to the resort. It is the only resort that does not offer an additional mode of Disney transportation beyond buses.
You might be disappointed with the limited transportation and longer bus rides if you want to go to the parks.
The silver lining is that there's a lot to do at the resort, making it an ideal choice for multitergenerational groups.
A one-bedroom villa with a savanna view costs almost $1,000 a night.
There was a separate suite, a living room with a pull-out couch, a second bathroom, and a full kitchen in the villa.
The cost per night for our villa is $928.
The average price for a standard room is $658.
Standard or pool-view rooms are less expensive than the savanna views. I wouldn't pay the high rate to look at a pool.
The best part of our stay was sampling delicious food.
The scene here is great if you like new food experiences.
Boma is a buffet that serves breakfast and dinner in the main Jambo House building.
There is a great view and delicious food nearby.
There is only one restaurant with a savanna view.
African and Indian cuisines are the inspiration for the mid-priced lunch and dinner menu.
The food is delicious, especially its famous bread service, but the real wow factor is the view of the animals and grounds.
Several of the resort's amenities were enjoyed by us.
There are two pools at Animal Kingdom Lodge.
Kidani Village has a rec room with board games, video games, a pool table, and more. There is an extra fee for arts and crafts.
You can also see Disney movies outdoors.
You can always check with the front desk about other activities as well.
The animals are one of the most popular attractions at the resort.
There are many opportunities to view animals.
An animal expert is always near the viewing areas to answer questions.
We were given a guided view of the Pembe Savanna, where we saw two okapis.
It was a gift to observe okapis because they are too shy to be comfortable in the main savannas.
We would definitely stay here again because this is my favorite Disney World resort.
If you go to the theme parks from dawn to dusk, you won't appreciate this resort as much.
During our stay, we were able to see animals from our balcony, but they didn't stay long. We wouldn't have been able to see them if we'd been out of the room.
I have no regrets about this booking. If we didn't choose a room with a savanna view, I wouldn't feel the same.
This is my favorite Disney World resort.
