Bryson DeChambeau calls LIV Golf series involvement 'a business decision'

The first LIV Golf event of the year will be held at Pumpkin Ridge in Portland on June 30th.

The most lucrative tournament in the sport's history took place last weekend, with former Masters champion Charl Schwartzel claiming victory and $4.75 million.

The eight-event series is backed by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund and has a prize fund of $250m.

The PGA Tour has suspended 17 players for taking part in the opening event. Many people have quit their memberships on the tour.

The American said that he still hopes to play on the tour, despite pulling out of the Travelers Championship.

Compatriot Justin Thomas, who has become a strong advocate for the PGA Tour, said he has lost sleep over the split in men's professional golf.

Thomas said that he lost a lot of sleep thinking about what could happen. I wanted to break records, make history, and play in the Presidents Cup when I was younger, but I couldn't afford to.

It's sad that things like that could happen if more people leave.

They are throwing money at people. I don't want my peers to leave, but they have to do what's best for them or what's best for their career.

I can't do anything else, I just have to plead my case. Everybody out here is a grown up.
