The Warriors defeated the Celtics 104-94 in the fifth game of the series to take a 3-2 lead. There are two minutes left in the game.

The Boston Celtics won the NBA Finals in San Francisco.

Curry didn't make a 3 for the first time in the playoffs. He had a good shooting night after struggling with his shot.

The Celtics didn't get demolished by the Warriors in the third quarter, but they did beat Golden State in the frame.

Boston scored five points in the first eight minutes of the fourth quarter to make it a one-point game, but Golden State went on to win 104-94 and take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series.

Al Horford said, "Obviously we're a little discouraged after having such a good third to come out in the fourth and not execute like we needed to" We started playing like we were in the middle of the game. It's definitely tough.

We have our backs against the wall. We need to figure it out when we look at each other. There is an opportunity for us now. It's gotta be figured out. We don't have a tomorrow for us.

Despite how badly the Celtics started the game, it looked like there might be a tomorrow for Boston.

The telltale stat of Boston's playoffs was turnovers. Through the playoffs, the Celtics have gone 14-2 when they commit 15 or fewer turnovers, and 0-7 when they have more.

While many of them came in trademark Celtics fashion, with Boston carelessly tossing the ball around, they also were a product of Golden State speeding the Celtics up and out of their rhythm.

Jaylen Brown gave credit to the people. They're a good defense. Sound and discipline. They've made us do what we don't do well. We need to recognize the game, see the game and make adjustments. When the ball arrives, take care of it.

There were too many turnovers. We paid for it.

Both Brown and Tatum were defeated by a Warrior. Brown finished with 18 points, nine rebound and four assists, but was 0-for-5 from 3-point range. He shot the ball well, going 10-for-20 from the field and 5-for-9 from 3-point range, but had four turnovers and went 1-for-5 in the fourth quarter, when it looked like he might have been tired.

Boston's fourth-quarter fade after climbing back into the game was discussed by Celtics coach Ime Udoka. Fatigue could've been a factor in that, whether it's physical or some of the decision-making, turnovers there. The hot hands helped us get back in the game.

After a disastrous first half that saw Boston trailing by only 12 and completely outplaying the Celtics in the second half, the Celtics decided to change their game plan.

Golden State deserved credit for how the Celtics fell apart, but it was also the latest reminder of how wildly this Boston team swings. After missing their first 12 3-pointers of the game, the Celtics ripped off eight straight makes in a row. They executed their game plan as they dismantled the Warriors in the third quarter.

The fourth quarter began and everything fell apart.

Udoka said that they've stepped up the physical activity. They're changing a lot more. It can look easy to get the shots we want if we don't get stagnant.

Just have to carry over from game to game. It was also quarter to quarter. When we're moving the ball, penetrating, kick, getting the wide-open shots we want, we have to have that carry over into the fourth. It was a night and day quarter from the third and the fourth until the young guys showed up.

Boston is still confident that it can dig itself out of this hole. What's the reason? Boston has been in this position many times in the playoffs.

I've said before that you need to be confident. "Do you want to?" We don't need to win two in a day. We need to win a game on Thursday.

We've been in similar situations before. It isn't over. On Thursday, I need to win. Right now, that's all we need to worry about.

After falling behind in the Eastern Conference semifinals against Milwaukee, the Celtics went on the road and won Game 6 in Milwaukee, and then came back home to win Game 7.

The Celtics had to survive a near historic collapse in the final minutes of the fourth quarter to beat the Heat in the Eastern Conference finals.

The Celtics have to dig out a hole to hang Banner 18.

After Monday's loss, Brown is more confident in his team's chances of winning an NBA title than he has been before. We don't have an option. At this point, it is either win or go home. We worked very hard to get to this point. We haven't played in the last two games, but I still think we have a better basketball team.

I hope we put our best foot forward in the next two games, because I know we can. The city will be with us. The game is going to be big. Excited to it.
