Google Maps’ toll estimates in action.

There is a new feature in the Maps app that shows how much you will have to pay to drive a route. There is a new toll pricing in the app but it is not visible on a pair of devices we have tried. In April, the toll feature was announced.

The total cost is calculated by taking toll passes and time of day into account, according to the website. When calculating routes, there is a "avoid toll" option. When a toll is payable on a journey, but not how much it will cost, you can get an alert from the maps.

For the planner friend: this new feature is for you.

The feature is available for over 2000 toll roads in the US, India, Japan, and Indonesia, according to the company. It says it will be adding support in more countries soon.
