The Associated Press reported that Ukrainian workers this week exhumed bodies from a mass grave.
There was a trail of atrocities left by the Russian soldiers after they left the suburb. According to the AP, authorities have discovered 1,316 bodies since Ukrainian forces regained control of the area.
Workers wearing hazmat suits and masks are going to dig up more bodies in the forest. The victims' hands were tied behind their backs.
The head of the Kyiv regional police said that people were tortured. The people were held captive for a long time and the enemy tried to get information from them.
