Natalie Portman as the Mighty Thor.

When Taika Waititi took over the franchise, fans were hoping that Natalie Portman would reprise her role as Jane Foster. Waititi talked about how Portman came to be a part of the movie in a new interview.

Waititi said that the female character in the first few films is not the most exciting version of her. I had to talk to Natalie about the fact that I wanted to change her character so that she could be more adventurous and fun. When they come up with characters in a film, they don't always focus on those things. The characters are very different from one another. Did they break up? Who did not come back? We were able to do what we wanted in that way.

The trailers show a man on a journey to rediscover love for himself, rather than just love for Jane. There is a place where THOR is. This film has a lot of love in it. Universal love and love for oneself, love for friends, love for the universe are some of the ways in which everyone has a little awakening.

Waititi said, "You can assume some things from the title but also don't assume." I had a picture in my head that looked like a cover of a book. I would like it to be that way. At times, I like to run headfirst into the romance, and not shy away from it, which I can do in my films. He sweeps her off her feet in the end scene of An Officer and a Gentleman. The influences for me were a lot over the top. The interview can be watched below.

On July 8th, there will be a movie called THOR: LOVE AND THUD.
