One Punch Man is getting a live-action film adaptation through Sony Pictures that will bring our beloved bald-headed hero, Saitama, and his mechanical sidekick Genos, to life on the big screen.

Fast & Furious director Justin Lin is on the production team, along with Scott and Jeff Pinkner, who worked on Venom and Jumanji: The Next Level. The studio that made Spider-Man: Homecoming and Ghost in the Shell will be the producers. By the end of the year, the adaptation of One Punch Man could be ready for production.

Anime fans have been burned by live-action adaptions in the past

There aren't any details on who will actually star in the film and who will play Saitama, the self-made hero who knocks enemies out with a single punch. Vin Diesel is probably not going to be in the film since Lin and Diesel got into a spat that caused Lin to leave the film. It is possible that it will try to squeeze in the entire first season.

One Punch Man, which started out as a Manga in 2009, was adapted into an animation by Madhouse Studios in 2015, which tells the story of Saitama's evolution into one of the world's strongest heroes. Fans noticed a dip in animation quality when J.C. staff took over production.

I'm looking forward to seeing how the live-action adaption pans out, but I'm a little uneasy. Death Note is an example of a live-action adaptation that fails to capture the show's original essence.
