Montrezl Harrell, a player for the Charlotte Hornets, is facing felony drug charges after a traffic stop in Kentucky.

Court records show that he was scheduled to be in court at 9 a.m. The citation will be answered on Monday. According to the police records, he was pulled over by a Kentucky state trooper for following the vehicle in front of him too closely.

The citation states that trooper Jesse Owens observed the smell of marijuana when he stopped the Honda Pilot. He admitted to being in possession of marijuana and produced a small amount from his pants. According to the citation, three pounds of marijuana in vacuum sealed bags were found in a backpack in the back of the vehicle. He was accused of selling less than five pounds of marijuana.

If you have less than five pounds of marijuana, you are a Class D felony for the first time. It can take up to 1 year of imprisonment and a fine of up to $10,000.

The Hornets didn't say anything.
