The Spot is not an intimidating villain. His power is to be able to create holes on himself, which makes him annoying for heroes to fight, but not impossible. There is no reason for anyone to be excited for the Spot to join a movie. The Spot will be in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-verse.
There were two clips from the film shown at the Annecy Festival, which were revealed at Cinema Con.
There wasn't much else announced other than the fact that the Spot will be voiced by a Frenchman. Rachel Dratch is an SNL cast member.
There is a good chance that your favorite character will be included in the movie if the Spot doesn't help you. Since Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse isn't due until next year, there's plenty of time for them.
