According to a source, Terry McLaurin won't attend this week's mandatory mini camp.
McLaurin is trying to get a contract extension that is in line with other comparable wide receiver contracts. The final year of his contract is the base salary that he is scheduled to make this season.
A.J. Brown signed a four-year extension that averages more than $25 million per season after he was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Some of the wide receivers picked in the draft, such as Deebo Samuel, are seeking contract extensions but are taking different approaches with their teams' minicamps last week. Samuel, who requested a trade earlier this year, attended the 49ers' mini camp.
The minicamp, which begins Tuesday, will be missed by McLaurin because he skipped it. If he misses three days in a row, he will be fined more than $100,000.
Despite Washington's inconsistent quarterback play, McLaurin enjoyed another productive season. He finished the season with 1,053 yards and five touchdown catches.
