Mountcastle and Odor belt back-to-back homers for the O's (0:44)

The Orioles will stay in Baltimore.

So says team chairman and CEO John Angelos in a strongly worded statement that comes in the midst of a family legal battle.

According to the lawsuit, John was trying to take control of the team and move it to Tennessee, where the CEO lived with his wife.

JohnAngelos said that the Orioles will stay put as long as Fort McHenry is watching over Inner Harbor.

He said that his mother was born in Northeast Baltimore and that he had worked with his father to help the city. The Orioles will always play at Oriole Park, and at no time have we considered anything different.

The commitment of the Maryland General Assembly to invest in the Camden Yards Sports Complex strengthened John's resolve to keep the Orioles in Maryland.

The future of the Baltimore Orioles is not in doubt. "I want to assure our Orioles players and coaches, our front office Senior Leadership Team and staff, and our devoted fans, trusted partners, elected, civic, and non-profit leaders, that the Orioles will never leave." From 33rd Street to Camden Yards, the Birds of Baltimore will remain in the only city that our family and our partnership group has called home.
