William Shatner said he couldn't stop crying after his flight to space with Blue Origin because he was thinking about how Earth was getting destroyed by the climate crisis.
The New Shepard rocket that Shatner was a part of successfully launched into space for 11 minutes last October.
The actor told CNN that he cried after the spaceflight.
He said it took him a long time to understand what it was. I realized I was grieving. The destruction of the Earth made me sad.
Shatner said that it's going to get worse. Someone owing money on a mortgage and they don't have the payments, so they just go to dinner and forget about it.
Three minutes of weightlessness was experienced by Shatner and the other passengers, as well as the former NASA engineer and Blue Origin executive.
Shatner told Bezos that he hoped he wouldn't recover from the experience.
I am very emotional about what just happened. Shatner said it was extraordinary.
At 90 years old, Shatner became the oldest person to reach space.
