PAPER GOSSIP

According to the Sun, a number of clubs are vying for the services of Udinese's 16-year-old rising star Simone Pafundi. Pafundi became the first player born in 2006 to play in the Udinese first team when he made his debut last month. English clubs are unable to sign Europeans until they're 18 because of the EU's decision to leave the bloc.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Gabriel Slonina is close to moving to London from the Chicago Fire. The Real Madrid target was close to being captured by the Blues in January, but they couldn't get a deal done. After re-entering the race to sign him, the Blues have overtaken the Spanish and European champions as the favorites to sign him. Last week, an offer for Slonina was rejected by Madrid, and it's believed that Chelsea can offer more for the highly rated young lady.
