Someone should take Amex's keys because they shouldn't be driving. A link for the Consumer Gold card that set a new standard for highest pure points bonus at 100K was published this morning. We decided not to post anything when there were 130K referral offers for the Business Gold card floating around. These referral offers can disappear without warning and seem to come and go with no rhyme or reason. It's important to use a fresh browser to see the offer.

| American Express® Business Gold Card The card is expensive and has few perks. If you use at least one or two 4X categories, keep. There is an annual fee. The Amex pay over time card has a card type. You can earn 4X on the two categories where your business spends the most each billing cycle. 4X applies to the first $150,000 in combined purchases, 1X point per dollar thereafter and on other purchases. The terms are applicable. After you pay with points for flights with your chosen airline, you will get 25% points back. The rates and fees are applied. |
The current best public offer is almost double the current targeted referral offer. This works out to 14x MR on $10K spend if you didn't take advantage of any bonus categories. If you are eligible for both, don't sleep on the Gold offer. The Gold will be more valuable for most people over the first year because of the bonus categories, even though it has less miles. You don't have to do a rain dance to make it look like it.
The "once-in-a-Lifetime" language is what this Business Gold referral offer has. You won't be eligible for the offer if you've had a Business Gold before. Amex will most likely let you know that you are not eligible for the bonus before you submit the application, so remember that.
If you are in two-player mode, one of the two can generate the referral. It could add anywhere from 10K to 30K additional MR. I was able to apply for the increased Business Gold offer on one of my wife's cards and we will get a total of 145,000 MR. Oh wowza.
If you are in a 2-player mode, make sure you test out all of the referral links on your MR earning cards on a variety of browser configurations before clicking on any of the links you see on the internet.
You will be able to choose either business or personal cards.
