Tom Cruise's film, "Top Gun: Maverick," continued to dominate the box office.

The film scored $100 million during its opening weekend and received high praise from fans. Remini criticized the film and Cruise's connection to the Church of Scientologists.

Both Cruise and Remini were members of the Church of Scientologists, but Remini left in July of 2013).

Remini shared a picture of a post that accused Cruise of promoting a cult that destroyed her family.

She said to not let the movie star fool you.

Representatives for Remini and Cruise didn't reply to the request for comment.

Remini referred to Cruise as a "public persona of the guy who looks at you directly in the eye and shakes your hand and hugs you and is an attentive person to you and there's the person behind the mask who").

Remini told People that "no one is going to tell me how I need to think, no one is going to tell me who I can and can't talk to."

People should be able to ask questions. She said that she believes people should value family and friends.

Remini has spoken out against the leader of the Church of Scientologists.

The A&E series, "Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath," was launched in November of 2016 to give insight into the religion. The church accused Remini and other contributors of making false statements about the church in order to make money.

John Travolta and Elizabeth Moss have been associated with the Scientologists. Other celebrities have defended Cruise over the years even though he has been criticized for his religion.

According to Kirstie Alley, who is a member of the church, all religions sound strange to the people who aren't practicing them. Most of the crazy stuff I hear is not true to me. I've been a Scientologist for a long time. Many things are sensationalized.
