Saudi Arabia spends billions of dollars hosting major entertainment, cultural, and sporting events in order to distract from the country's image as a human rights violator. There are scores of human rights activists and dissidents in jail or on trial. High-level officials were not held accountable for suspected involvement in the murder of a journalist. Scores of civilians have been killed and thousands of others have been wounded in Yemen as a result of the Saudi-led coalition's campaign against the rebels.
There are a few war crimes. Relax, everyone.
In an interview with Alan Shipnuck, Phil said that the Saudis have a horrible record on human rights. People are put to death for being gay. I don't understand why I would consider it. It's a once-in-a-lifetime chance to change how the tour operates.
