General Grievous spinning his llightsabers in Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith.

It's fun to see well-known actors show up in a Star Wars movie. Maybe they are there as important characters, like Sam Jackson, or as "Wait, they're in this?" It is always great when these stars come up for a while to be the new gLup Shitto.

What would've been a big player during the franchise's prequel era is what we could've gotten. Gary Oldman was close to giving a voice to General Grievous in Revenge of the Sith. Oldman said in a recent interview on the Happy Sad Confused that he was close to portraying the multi-armed villain in a movie.

The film being shot mostly in Australia caused things to fall apart. He didn't want to be "the poster boy for breaking union roles." He did VO work with George Lucas despite losing out on the role. There are no regrets about that.

Matthew Wood reprised the role of Grievious in The Clone Wars series, as well as a number of video games that featured the character, after Lucasfilm chose him to voice the character in Revenge. The baddie was voiced by John DiMaggio and Richard McGonagle. It was always fun to see him show up in things, even though he held the most Ls of any bad guy during the prequel era. It's interesting to think about what Oldman's voice would've brought to the character, and part of what makes Grievous interesting is that his voice sounds like it would serve as partial inspiration for Darth Vader.

There is a film called Collider.
