The man who was whipped by his Chinese boss in 2020 is still seeking compensation after being deported.

Deng Hailan, a Chinese national who worked as a chef at the restaurant, whipped Simon Oseko for being late to work. In February 2020, the video caused a public uproar.

Before whipping Oseko twice on his backside, Hailan asked him where he wanted to be hit.

The restaurant was raided by the criminal investigations department. The man who did not have a permit was arrested. Chefs and a cashier were caught with expired visas.

The Employment and Labor Relations Court ordered the compensation to be paid on June 29, 2021. The orders haven't been implemented as Hailan was deported three days after he was arrested.

The South Korean man used virtual reality to meet his late wife again.

A paper that shows I need to be paid is what I have right now. Oseko said that his efforts have hit the wall because he doesn't have any money.

Steven Mogaka, Oseko's lawyer, said that things are not going well. No one is available to give the orders since we don't have the Chinese nationals.

Oseko sued Fred Matiang'i for deporting Hailan. The Chinese government, Inspector General of Police, Attorney General, and a restaurant were all in his suit.

The Chinese national was deported before the case could be finished. He said he was sexually harassed by Hailan.

Oseko told Nation that his lawyer wrote a protest letter to the Chinese Embassy, but they were not responsible.

Oseko said that he was crying for his reward after the judge gave him compensation.

My lawyer says that he can't continue with the case anymore. There is no response after the case ended. I want my compensation.
