Ed Reed wants the Washington Commanders players to speak out against Jack Del Rio.
Reed said that the $100,000 fine for Del Rio was "nothing" and that the players needed to stand up for him.
Ed Reed @TwentyERToday, im sick and tired! A dust up! 100,000 is not enough, money ain’t nothing to a person who is recycled through coaching. Its always one, first it was Saban now its Jack to just remind US what it is! Man if u coached by him put your pants on! Its simple right and wrong, Wrong
Del Rio would like to understand why the summer of riots, loot, burning and the destruction of personal property is not discussed.
The insurrection was referred to as a "dustup" by Del Rio during his press conference.
"What did I ask? A simple question. Why are we not looking into those things, if we're gonna talk about [January 6], why are we not looking into those things? Because it's kind of hard for me to say, I can realistically look at it, I see the images on TV, people's livelihoods are being destroyed. Businesses are being burned down. No problem. And then we have a dustup at the Capitol, nothing burned down. And we're gonna make that a major deal."✨ Watch more top videos, highlights, and B/R original content
After he deleted his account, Del Rio apologized for what he had said.
He apologized for his comments, but he stood by them. While also expressing my support for peaceful protest in our country, I said that. Peaceful protests have been supported by me. I support and respect my fellow coaches, players, and staff that I work with.
Ron Rivera said that Del Rio had been fined $100,000 for his comments. The money will be given to the United States Capitol Police Memorial Fund.
Washington defensive end Jonathan Allen told JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington that there can be a difference of opinion and still respect one another.
Del Rio has been the Commanders defensive coach for the past two seasons. The team will hold a mini camp.
