In her speech at the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame, Taylor called for the release of her former Phoenix Mercury teammate, who was jailed in Russia for practicing her craft.

President Joe Biden was asked by Taylor to help free the man. She is yours as well. She must be a priority for the entire global sport community.

The two-time Olympic gold medal winner has been held since February 17 after her luggage was found to contain oil from cannabis.

After playing in a Mercury win on Friday night, Taylor traveled to Tennessee to escort Diana to the hall of fame.

Taylor was part of the team that won Olympic silver medals. She was an All-Star in three of the four years she was in the league.

Other people who were in the Hall of Fame included coach Bob Schneider, who was third all time with 614 Division II victories, as well as veteran players like Alice "Cookie" Barron.

Title IX was one of the pioneers of the game and was honored by the hall at its 50thanniversary. The man who flew to games with the Flying Queens made a call to everyone.

All of us should keep a close eye on Title IX. The doors are unlocked." They must never be allowed to close.

She was the 1997 SEC player of the year and an All-American at Florida. She was the leader of the Gators to four straight NCAA tournament berths.

The fourth overall pick in the 1999 draft spent 17 years in the league. She played for Los Angeles, Atlanta, New York, Washington and San Antonio and held the league record for most games played. She was part of the team that won back to back titles.

The U.S. won Olympic gold in 2000 and 2008, but missed the Athens Games due to an injury. She was a basketball player in Spain, Italy, Turkey, South Korea, the Czech Republic and Russia.

Her family made t-shirts and visors for her to wear, and they helped put her hometown of Riceboro on the map.

She couldn't attend because her team was playing in Los Angeles.

Bruno has a record of 24 NCAA tournament berths. He won six gold medals with the USA Basketball team.
