The first MacBook Pro with a higher-resolution display was announced 10 years ago.
The new 15-inch MacBook Pro was thinner than the previous model, as Apple removed the built-in Ethernet port, FireWire port, and CD/DVD drive. The notebook had a MagSafe 2 card slot, two MagSafe 2 ports, two USB-A ports, an HDMI port, an sd card slot, and a headphones jack.
Tim Cook said in a press release that the new MacBook Pro pushes the limits of performance and portableness. The new MacBook Pro is the most advanced Mac we have ever built.
The world's highest resolution notebook display is found in the MacBook Pro with a retina display. The first MacBook Pro to feature flash storage allowed for a lighter design. The notebook was powered by Intel's third-generation quad-core Core i7 processors, and was also equipped with up to 16GB of RAM, and up to a 768-gigabyte solid state drive.
The price for the first Macbook Pro in the US was $2,199. The 13-inch MacBook Pro was announced in October 2012 at a lower price. The notebooks are on the obsolete products list.
