The Old Guard was one of the better movies of 2020 because it was fun, exciting, and put character over spectacle. A movie about a group of immortal warriors functioning as a black ops team isn't a premise you do just the one time. There is a sequel in production and we have two new additions to the cast.
There are currently undisclosed roles for Henry Golding and Uma Thurman in Old Guard 2. The Bride in the Kill Bill movies, as well as an extremely campy Poison Ivy in Batman & Robin, are two of the things they have in common. In last year's GI Joe movie, Golding played Snake Eyes, and he proved to be a decent physical performer. It is likely that Golding will get to have some action scenes, as well as the chance to show that she still has it.
Theron will reprise her role as Andy in The Old Guard 2 along with other cast members from the original film. Greg Rucka will write the sequel's script, but Gina Prince- Bythewood will not be involved. Victoria Mahoney will take over directing duties, while Prince- Bythewood will stay on as a producer.
We don't know when we'll get The Old Guard 2. Let the inclusion of Golding and Thurman fuel your imagination until we see a trailer or poster.
