Looking for ways to improve after a disappointing 37-45 record last season, the New York Knicks might be interested in bringing back a former All- Star.

According to the New York Post, the Knicks brass has been talking about signing Anthony.

There are more pressing concerns about how to rebuild a team that has missed the playoffs eight of the past nine years.

Anthony played for the Knicks from 2011 to 2017: He was acquired by the team in a three-team trade.

In Anthony's first three seasons, the Knicks made the playoffs. They won the Atlantic Division for the first time since 1993-94 but lost in the second round of the playoffs to the Pacers.

The organization was not able to build a team around Anthony. In his last four seasons with the Knicks, the 10-time All-Star averaged 24.0 points, 7.1 rebound and 3.3 assists. During that time, the team went 114-211.

Anthony was traded by the Knicks to the Oklahoma CityThunder. He has played for four different teams in the last five years.

Anthony came off the bench in each of the last two seasons. He had a good showing for the Lakers in the 21st century. He shot 37.5 percent from three-point range.

There are $119.2 million in salary commitments for the Knicks. Before hitting the luxury tax threshold, they could afford to pay Anthony a minimum salary.

Anthony doesn't know what he wants at this point in his career. If he wants to win a championship, there could be teams that want him to score off the bench.

After going 41-31 in 2020-21, the Knicks tried to return to normal. Injuries and poor performances were to blame for things not working out. For the eighth time in the past nine seasons, they finished under.500.
